Principal Investigator

Yi Du (杜忆)

2016-present: Professor, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China

2015-2016: Postdoc Fellow, Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, Montreal, Canada

2012-2015: Postdoc Fellow, Rotman Research Institute, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada

2005-2011: Ph.D. in Psychology, Peking University, Beijing, China

2000-2005: B.M., Peking University Medical Science Center, Beijing, China

I use psychophysical methods, a variety of brain imaging techniques (including functional MRI, magnetoencephalography, EEG), and non-invasive neuromodulation techniques (transcranial electrical/magnetic stimulation) to study the brain mechanisms of human auditory speech and music cognition. My research interests include: auditory processing and multi-channel integration, speech perception and understanding, lifelong development and plasticity of speech cognition, and music cognition.

Assistant professor

Xiuyi Wang(王秀祎)

2021.10-present: Assistant Researcher, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

2019.10-2021.10: Postdoctoral Fellow, University of York, UK

2016.10-2020.08: Ph.D., University of York, UK

2012.09-2015.07: Beijing Normal University, Master

2007.09-2011.07: Bachelor of Henan Normal University

I combine multimodal neuroimaging data (functional, structural, and diffusion magnetic resonance imaging) with multiple analysis methods (diffusion embedding, machine learning, functional/structural connectivity, and univariate analysis etc).
I am interested in the organizational principal of human brain. Specifically, I investigate whether the fundamental properties of brain networks can explain their functional differentiation and their coupling and decoupling patterns to perform various tasks.

Wanying Zhao(赵婉莹)

Wanying zhao got her Ph.D. in life science from the University of Hull in 2017 before joined Duyi’s Lab as an assitant professor at the institute of Psychology, CAS. Her research interests revolve around multisensory semantic integration, linguistic processing, and embodied cognition. She also has a strong interest in aphasia research. She employs an array of neuroscience methods, including the causal research techniques  of double-pulse TMS, tDCS, tACS and tRNS, and the correlation research measurements of ERP and fMRI.

Post Doc

Xinhu Jin(靳鑫虎)

Xinhu Jin received his PhD in State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learing at Beijing Normal University, under the guidance of Prof. Gaolang Gong. He mainly adopted resting-state fMRI to explore the functional organization of our brain, including functional homotopy and functional lateralization. Now he is a post-doc student at Prof. Yi Du’s lab, focusing on the effect of aging and musical training experience on functional lateralization and speech perception.

Siqi You(尤思琦)

2022-Present: Postdoc Fellow, CAS Key Laboratory of Behavioral Science, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing

2017-2022: Ph.D., CAS Key Laboratory of Behavioral Science, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing

2013-2017: B.S., College of Education Science and Management, Yunnan Normal University, Kunming

E-mail: yousq@psych.ac.cn

Experiences: Siqi received her PhD in Basic Psychology at Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the guidance of Prof. Yufang Yang, from 2017 to 2022. During her Ph.D., she has focused on the cognitive neurological mechanisms of musical tension generation, and responsible for examining the effects of pitch hierarchical structures on musical tension by combining EEG and behavioral rating. In addition, she has also focused on the cognitive neural mechanism of language understanding. Siqi is currently working on the central and peripheral systems behind the regulation of emotion by music.
